Everything we get asked, answered.

And if your question isn’t here, there’s one inbox and a person reads it — usually replying within a working day.

Ordering

How does ordering work?

You answer the questions first and pay at the end. Nothing is charged until you’ve seen exactly what we’re making and what postage costs to your address.

GLITCH is different — it’s an off-the-shelf game, so there are no questions. You give us an address and pay.

Why do I need an account?

Because a personalized game takes days to make and you’ll want to come back to it. Your account holds your saved answers, your order status, your tracking number and your cancel button. You can start answering and finish tomorrow — nothing is lost.

Can I order for someone without them knowing?

Yes, and most people do. Everything we send goes to you, not to them — order confirmation, progress emails, tracking. Nothing is ever sent to the person the game is about.

Do you take big or corporate orders?

Weddings, corporate gifting, events needing more than a handful of boxes — email the studio and we’ll work out whether we can do it properly before saying yes.

Photos and personalization

What makes a good photo?

Good light, faces clearly visible, no heavy filters. For YOU: The Board Game we need head-to-toe shots, because the artist draws their whole body for the board and the box — a cropped headshot isn’t enough.

Send more than the minimum if you can’t choose. We’ll pick.

Who draws the artwork?

A human illustrator, working from your photographs. You choose which artist, or let us match you. Nothing about the artwork is AI-generated and it never will be — that’s a commitment, not a production detail.

What happens to my photos afterwards?

They’re used to make your game and nothing else. They’re never public — the link that serves them checks you own the order first — and removing a photo deletes the file, not just the record. The full privacy policy is here.

Shipping and turnaround

How long will my game take?

Different for each game, and the clock starts when you finish your answers, not when you pay:

  • YOU: The Board Game About 7 days from the day you finish your answers
  • The Memory Game The fastest game we make
  • SPARK 11–15 days total, from your answers to your door
  • GLITCH — a preorder, shipping by Nov 15, 2026

Got a date to hit? Tell us in the questionnaire. If it’s too tight we’ll say so before you pay, not after.

What does shipping cost?

It depends on the parcel and your address, so we quote it live before you pay rather than guessing — you’ll see the exact figure and the carrier on the last step. It includes packaging, and if the real postage comes in under the quote, the difference goes into better packing rather than our pocket.

Where do you ship to?

The United States only, at the moment.

We’d rather ship nowhere than ship badly: selling into some countries means tax registration from the very first order, and into others means the person receiving your gift gets a customs bill. Email us if you’re abroad and we’ll tell you honestly where we’ve got to.

Is my preorder going to arrive when you say?

GLITCH is being manufactured, and our date is Nov 15, 2026. If that slips, you’ll hear it from us by email rather than finding out by waiting — and a preorder can be cancelled for a full refund at any point before it ships.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

I've just ordered and spotted a mistake.

You have 24 hours from ordering to change anything or cancel, and production doesn’t start until that window closes. Open your order from your account — there’s a countdown, an Edit button and a Cancel button. No email needed.

Can I cancel a personalized game after that?

Not through the site, no. An artist has started by then, and the game carries somebody’s name and face — there’s nothing we could resell it as. That’s a real constraint rather than a policy we chose.

Small fixes like a spelling are often still possible. Ask, and we’ll tell you honestly what we can do.

Can I cancel a GLITCH preorder?

Yes — any time before it ships. It’s a printed box rather than something built around one person, so there’s no reason to hold you to it.

Within the first 24 hours you can cancel yourself from your account. After that, email us and we’ll refund it.

How long does a refund take?

It goes back to the card you paid with, and we email you when it’s sent. Most banks show it within five working days, though a few take a little longer. If it hasn’t appeared after a week, reply to that email and we’ll chase it.

It arrived damaged, or something's wrong with it.

That’s on us, whenever you notice — damaged in transit, a spelling we got wrong from something you gave us correctly, print quality off. Send a photo and we’ll remake it or refund it, your choice.

What isn’t covered is a change of mind on a finished personalized game, for the same reason it can’t be cancelled: it’s got someone’s face on it.

Payment and security

Is my card safe?

Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, and your card details never touch our site or our database — we can’t see them. You’ll pay on Stripe’s own checkout, which supports Apple Pay and Google Pay.

When am I charged?

At the end, once you’ve seen the full total including postage. Answering the questions costs nothing and commits you to nothing — an unfinished order just sits saved in your account.

Why is there tax on my order?

We’re registered in California and sales tax is calculated from your delivery address at checkout, so you see the exact amount before you pay. Delivery is taxable in California too, which is why it can apply to the postage line.

Still stuck?

Email info@yellowdicegames.com and Anisha will reply, usually within a working day. There’s no ticket number and no chatbot loop — it’s one inbox and one person. Include your order number if you have one.

There’s also a chat button in the corner of every page, and the studio’s address is on the contact page.
